About perception, Anais Nin wrote, We don’t see things as they are; we see them as we are.
I explore this idea through painting and print-making by mixing impulses from both sides of
my brain: logical and random, methodical and intuitive, textual and visual.

My grandfather was a neuroscientist, while my grandmother painted the female form and introduced
me to painting and life drawing at a very early age. From this beginning, my perception of the world
has been continuously influenced by an improbable juxtaposition of scientific inquiry and
visual conceptualization.
